From Bliss To Business
“People say that what we’re all seeking is a meaning for life. I don’t think that’s what we’re really seeking. I think what we’re seeking is an experience of being ALIVE, so that our life experiences on the purely physical plane will have resonances within our own innermost being and reality, so that we actually feel the RAPTURE of being ALIVE.” ~ From the book, The Power Of Myth by Joseph Campbell and Bill Moyers.
I have been thinking lately about the American entrepreneur and how fortunate we are to have options. To choose a passion and turn it into a business or non-profit. To take our bliss and build a business that is in alignment with our integrity, intelligence, and intuition. How lucky we are to feel so ALIVE doing what we LOVE. Towards the end, is our life the sum of all our experiences? If it is, then we better make sure we LOVE how we spend our time and who we spend it with. And that includes the businesses we build and the type of customers we serve, and the vendors we choose to work with, and the type of people we hire.
What is it about being an entrepreneur that makes YOU feel ALIVE? For me, it’s the creativity and passion that goes into birthing an idea that people would find useful or helpful and then bringing that idea to market and nurturing it along the way. With this blog post, I am beginning a series on how to go from BLISS to BUSINESS. It all begins with an idea or a vision. That’s the easy part. The hard part is taking ACTION. In upcoming posts, I will be sharing tips and strategies on creating an action plan to bring your vision to the world. I hope you will join me by sharing your comments and feedback below.
I am also passionate about public speaking. (Did you know that is the number one fear in most people?) If you are in the San Francisco area this month, please join me at Small Business Technology Tour on September 28th where I will be taking the stage and talking about how to grow your local business using location-based services.
